Home is the page you land on after logging in to wxrks. As an Account Admin or a Project Manager, it puts what needs you first: the figures you track, the decisions or risks waiting for you, the deliveries due this week, your ongoing projects, and the tasks that still need a linguist. This article walks through each section, says where the two roles differ, and shows how to act from the Home without opening each project.
Who this is for: Account Admins and Project Managers. Clients and Vendors have their own Home, described in Client's Portal and Vendor's Portal. For what each role can do, see All about wxrks roles.
What each role sees:
An Account Admin sees the whole account. The Home opens with Your numbers, Ongoing projects, Needs a decision, and Deadline radar. Task triage is available but hidden until you turn it on (or until a counter or a line opens it).
A Project Manager sees the projects and tasks of the Organizational Units they have access to (an Organizational Unit is how your account groups clients and their projects; see All about Organizational Units). The Home opens with Ongoing projects, Task triage, Needs you now, and Deadline radar. Your numbers is available but hidden until you turn it on.
Permissions: Take it requires the Project Update permission (in the Project module), and Assign requires the Task Assign permission (in the Task module) of the permission matrix (People > Users > [User] > Permissions). The default Account Admin and Project Manager roles have both.

The Home at a glance
The buttons at the top right. Start a new project opens the project creation page (see Start a new project below). Customize this page (the sliders icon) lets you choose which sections your Home shows, in which column and in which order, including sections From other views that borrow another role's section with your own data and permissions.
The counters under the greeting sum up what asks for action. Each one is a link that opens the matching list on the Home, already filtered:
Account Admin: projects ongoing, tasks late, and the amount in quotes to approve (projects waiting for the client's approval).
Project Manager: projects ongoing, late (approved projects past their due date), and tasks to assign.
Needs a decision for an Account Admin, or Needs you now for a Project Manager: what needs you today (see Needs a decision and Needs you now below).
The other sections are described below: Your numbers, Deadline radar, Ongoing projects, and Task triage.
The Messages button (the speech-bubble icon at the top of the page, with your unread count) holds your conversations about projects and tasks.
Your numbers
Your numbers is a band of the figures you choose to track. Hover a figure to see what it measures and how it compares with the previous period. Calculated N min ago at the bottom says how fresh the figures are; click the refresh icon beside it to recalculate.
To choose the figures, click What lands here. In What lands in your numbers, turn on the switch of a figure under Available to add it to your band, turn off a figure under In your band — in this order to take it out, and use the up and down arrows to set the order. Click Done to save, or Cancel to leave the band as it was.
The two roles choose from different catalogues:
Role | Figures available | Shown by default |
Account Admin | 14, including the money figures: Revenue month to date, Gross margin, Spend month to date, Saved by memory & CS, and Cost per word | Revenue month to date, Gross margin, Spend month to date, Saved by memory & CS, On-time delivery, Cost per word |
Project Manager | 9: the same list without the five money figures | Active projects, On-time delivery, Unassigned tasks, Awaiting client approval, Avg turnaround (once you turn the section on) |
Both catalogues also include Words in flight, Words delivered, Review score, and Active vendors. Pick the ones you actually watch: the dialog suggests that six or seven is where the band stops being easy to scan.
Needs a decision and Needs you now
This side section lists, one line per kind of issue, what needs you today. Each line shows a count, a Why it is here icon (hover it to read the reason), Open to see the items, and an X to dismiss the line. A kind with nothing pending does not show; when nothing is pending at all, the section reads Nothing needs you right now.
The section differs by role:
Account Admin: Needs a decision | Project Manager: Needs you now | |
Order | Ranked by money: the stalled quotes line ranks by the amount still pending. | Ranked by risk |
Lines | Quotes pending approval for more than 48 hours, with their total amount | Projects late or at risk of missing their deadline |
Why it is here explains each line. For example, a late-projects line is there because "The project's due date has passed, or it is due today with work still open." On an Account Admin's Home, wxrks may write this explanation for you, from the current figures; the tooltip then reads Why it is here, by wxrks, the section shows an AI badge, and for the quotes line it lists the amount per currency.
Open takes you to the items behind the count, filtered the same way the count was made: the tasks lines open Task triage on the matching tab, and the projects lines open Ongoing projects filtered by status or deadline (for example Projects · Waiting for approval for stalled quotes).
Dismissing a line hides it until its count changes; it does not resolve anything, and the counters at the top still include it. The toast Hidden until something changes offers Undo for a few seconds. Dismissed lines are listed under N dismissed · Show at the bottom of the section, where Restore brings a line back and Always hide keeps it hidden even when its count changes.
Deadline radar
Deadline radar charts the deliveries due over the next seven days, plus the ones already late. An Account Admin's radar covers the whole account (whole account · next 7 days); a Project Manager's covers their projects (your projects · next 7 days).
The Late bar counts approved projects already past their due date; the Today bar counts the ones due today. Click either bar to filter Ongoing projects to those projects.
Below the chart, N already late and N due today repeat the two figures, and a sentence names your busiest day (for example "Tue is your busiest day — 17 deliveries."), so you can plan work ahead of it.
Ongoing projects
Ongoing projects lists your approved projects in progress, 8 at a time, with the most urgent due date first. Each row shows:
Project: the reference, name, Organizational Unit, and languages. A red badge (for example Needs a look) flags a project at risk; when the badge carries the AI mark, hover it to see Flagged by wxrks: wxrks detected the risk itself.
Phase (for example In production), Progress per workflow step (hover the bar for the step-by-step breakdown), Owner (the project's Project Manager), and Due (how late or how soon, with the date).
Use the bar above the list to narrow it:
Search projects… by name or reference.
Due: All, Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, or Later, each with its count.
Owner: Anyone, Mine, or Unassigned.
Sort: Due date, Project name, or Risk first.
Click Save view to keep these filters: the list opens the same way next time. Click a project row to open its project page, with all its sections (see Project Overview). To browse every project with the full filter panel, use Projects in the side menu (see How to list and filter projects).
Take ownership of a project with Take it
A project without a Project Manager shows a dash and a Take it button under Owner. Click Take it to become its owner: your name replaces the button, a toast confirms it (You now own, followed by the project reference), and the project now counts under Owner: Mine.
Took the wrong one? Click Undo in the toast while it shows (a few seconds): the project goes back to having no owner. If someone else took the project first, the Home tells you Somebody already owns this project.
Task triage
Task triage gathers the tasks that need a decision, in three tabs, each with its count:
To assign: tasks with no linguist (Nobody is assigned).
Need attention: tasks with No progress for over 48 hours.
Late: tasks Past its due date.
Each row shows the Task (project and reference), Step, Languages, Words, and Why it is here. Narrow the list with the search (project, reference or file), Due (All, Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, This week, Later) and Owner, and sort by Due date, Words, or Project. On Need attention and Late, Open project takes you to the task.
On a Project Manager's Home, Task triage shows by default. On an Account Admin's Home it shows when you open it from the tasks late counter or a Needs a decision line; to keep it on your Home, turn it on with Customize this page.
Assign a task
On the To assign tab, click Assign on the task's row.
In Assign the task, pick a linguist. The list shows only linguists eligible for the task's language pair, with their current load (open tasks and words); the lightest-loaded one is preselected and marked Auto-place pick. Use Search linguists to find someone else.
Check the Deadline (two days from now by default) and click Assign.
A toast confirms it (Assigned to, followed by the linguist's name), and the task leaves To assign. To assign tasks in bulk or from the project page, see Assigning Tasks to Users.
Undo an assignment
Click Undo in the Assigned to toast while it shows (a few seconds). The task goes back to To assign, unassigned, with the due date it had before you assigned it, as if you had not assigned it. The linguist's rate is not kept on the task: the next linguist you assign brings their own.
ℹ️ Note: Undo only works while the linguist has not opened or accepted the task. If they already did, the Home says The linguist already opened the task, so this cannot be undone. Change the assignment from the project page instead.
Start a new project
Click Start a new project at the top right of the Home. It opens the New project page, where you choose Direct project or Project routing and then go through two steps: Files (Organizational Unit, languages and files) and Review (details, context and workflows). How to create a translation project in wxrks walks through the page field by field, and How to use Project Routing in wxrks covers routing.
Where your old Home tabs went
If you used wxrks before, here's where to find what the previous Home showed:
Before | Now |
Start a new Project button | The Start a new project button at the top right of the Home. |
Dynamic Feed tab | The Messages button at the top of the page, which also holds the automatic alerts. |
Projects tab | Ongoing projects, with Take it for projects without an owner. |
Tasks tab | Task triage, with Assign and Undo. |
Troubleshooting
What you see | What it means |
Somebody already owns this project. | Another user took the project before you. Refresh the list to see the owner. |
The linguist already opened the task, so this cannot be undone. | The linguist opened or accepted the task. Change the assignment from the project page. |
No linguist supports this language pair yet. | The Home has no linguist to offer for this task. Either no linguist has the task's language pair in their profile (add the pair to a linguist's profile, or ask one to add it), or the task's step can't start yet because an earlier workflow step is still open (wait for that step to be delivered). |
The numbers were just refreshed. Try again in a minute. | Your numbers was recalculated moments ago. Wait a minute before refreshing again. |
