Your Home is the page you land on after logging in to wxrks. You can choose which of its sections it shows, put each one in the column you want, change their order, and, as an Account Admin or Project Manager, add sections from another role's Home. This article shows how, for each of the four roles, and how to save the result so your Home opens the same way next time.
Who this is for: Account Admins, Project Managers, Vendors, and Clients. Each role customizes its own Home; what each Home shows is described in How to use your Home as an Account Admin or Project Manager, in the Home section of Vendor's Portal, and in section 1. Home of Client's Portal.
Permissions: Saving your layout requires the Manage Own Preferences permission (in the User module of People > Users > [User] > Permissions). The default Account Admin, Project Manager, Vendor, and Client roles all have it. Without it, you can still change things in the panel, but they are not saved: after you click Save layout, the button becomes unavailable and says to ask an Account Admin to turn on "Manage Own Preferences" for your role.
Your layout is yours: it applies only to your own user. Other users, including users with the same role, keep their own Home.

Troubleshooting
Open the Customize panel
At the top right of the Home, click Customize this page (the sliders icon, beside the main button). The Customize your home panel opens on the right. The Home stays visible beside it, and every change you make shows on the page right away, so you can see the result before you save it.
Customize this page opens the panel.
Keep the side column in view: when this switch is on (it is on by default), the side column stays on screen as you scroll down the Home, "When it is shorter than the main column." Turn it off if you prefer the side column to scroll away with the rest of the page.
Your numbers (Account Admin and Project Manager only) shows how many figures your band holds, for example 6 of 14 metrics. Click Choose to pick them (see Your numbers inside the panel below).
Widgets — order, column and visibility lists every section your Home can show, one row each.
What you can change
Each row of Widgets — order, column and visibility controls one section:
The switch shows or hides the section (its label reads, for example, Show Deadline radar). A hidden section keeps its place and column, so it comes back where it was when you turn it on again.
Full, Main, or Side chooses the column. Main is the wide column on the left and Side the narrow column on the right; Full gives the section the whole width of the page, on a row of its own. For example, put Your numbers in Full to show your figures as one wide band above the two columns.
Move up and Move down (the arrows) change the order of the section among the sections in the same column. An arrow is unavailable when the section is already at that end ("This section is already first in its group." or "This section is already last in its group.").
Drag a row by its handle (the dots on its left) and drop it on another row to place it right before that one. The section moves into that row's column.
The order in the panel is the order on the page: inside each column, sections show top to bottom in the order of their rows.
Your numbers inside the panel
Choose opens What lands in your numbers, the same dialog as What lands here on the Your numbers section: turn figures on or off and order them with the arrows, then click Done. Inside the panel, Done only adds your choice to the layout you are editing; it is saved when you click Save layout, and dropped if you click Discard. The figures each role can choose are listed in How to use your Home as an Account Admin or Project Manager.
Add sections from other views (Account Admin and Project Manager)
Below your own sections, From other views offers "Sections of another role, with your own data and permissions. They come after your own sections in the column you choose." Each row says which Home it comes from (for example From the Project Manager view), and all of them are off until you turn them on.
A section from another view is that role's section filled with your own data, so it never shows more than you can already see: an Account Admin who adds Needs you now sees it filled with the whole account, the same scope as the rest of their Home, and a Project Manager who adds Needs a decision sees only the projects of their own Organizational Units (the groups your account uses to organize clients and their projects; see All about Organizational Units).
Your role | Sections you can add | From |
Account Admin | Needs you now, Ongoing projects, Task triage | the Project Manager view |
Account Admin | Your projects, and What your clients spend (the Client's Spend over time chart, which on your Home charts the account's revenue by month) | the Client view |
Project Manager | Needs a decision, without its line about quotes stalled for more than 48 hours and their amount | the Account Admin view |
Project Manager | Your projects | the Client view |
Vendor, Client | None: From other views does not show | — |
Turn on the section's switch and choose its column.
The section shows on your Home right away, under a label that names its role, for example From the Project Manager view. Sections from other views always come after your own sections in their column, and Move up, Move down, and drag reorder them only among themselves.
Click Save layout to keep it (see Save, discard, or reset below).
Save, discard, or reset
As soon as you change something, a bar appears at the bottom of the panel with 1 unsaved change, Discard, and Save layout.
Save layout (or Ctrl+S, Cmd+S on a Mac) saves your layout and closes the panel. A message confirms it: Layout saved — your home opens like this next time. Your Home opens with this layout on every visit, until you change it again.
Discard drops every change you made since you opened the panel and closes it. Your Home goes back to the layout you saved last.
Reset to default (at the bottom of the panel) puts your sections, their order, and your numbers back to the default for your role (see What each role starts with below). wxrks asks Reset to the default layout? first. The reset only changes the panel ("Save to keep it."), so until you click Save layout, Discard still undoes it.
If you close the panel with the X, or leave the Home, with changes not saved, wxrks asks Leave without saving? Choose Continue editing to go back to the panel, Discard and leave to drop your changes, or Save and leave to save them first.
ℹ️ Note: If you saved your layout in another browser tab or window while this panel was open, Save layout does not silently overwrite it. The save bar says that the layout changed in another tab or window, and clicking Save layout again asks Replace the other tab's layout? Click Save anyway to keep the layout you have in this panel, or cancel and click Discard to keep the one the other tab saved.
What each role starts with
Until you save a layout of your own (or after Reset to default), each role's Home opens with these sections. All of them are in the panel, so you can turn on the hidden ones or move any of them.
Role | Main column | Side column | Hidden until you turn it on |
Account Admin | Your numbers, Ongoing projects | Needs a decision, Deadline radar | Task triage, and every section from other views |
Project Manager | Ongoing projects, Task triage | Needs you now, Deadline radar | Your numbers (full width when you turn it on), and every section from other views |
Vendor | Projects, offers and payments | Your week, Needs you now, Your record, What you have earned | Nothing |
Client | Your projects | Spend over time | Nothing |
Keep the side column in view is on by default for every role.
As a Vendor or a Client, the panel lists only your own sections, with Keep the side column in view above them: there is no Your numbers row and no From other views.
For example, a Vendor who mostly works from the list of tasks can move Projects, offers and payments to Full, so the list takes the whole width, and turn off Your record. A Client who doesn't follow spending can turn off Spend over time, so Your projects stands alone.
Other choices on the Home that save on their own
Two choices are kept apart from the Customize panel and saved the moment you make them:
What lands here, on the Your numbers section (Account Admin and Project Manager): Done saves your figures right away. Only Choose, inside the Customize panel, waits for Save layout.
Save view, on Ongoing projects (Account Admin and Project Manager): keeps the Due, Owner, and Sort choices of that list, in the browser you use. The Customize panel does not save it, and Reset to default does not clear it.
Troubleshooting
What you see | What it means |
Save layout became unavailable, with a note that you don't have permission to save your own home layout | Your user does not have Manage Own Preferences. Ask an Account Admin to turn it on in People > Users > [User] > Permissions. |
Replace the other tab's layout? | You saved the layout in another tab or window after opening this panel. Click Save anyway to keep this one, or cancel and click Discard to keep the other. |
The layout could not be saved. Try again. | The save did not go through. Your changes are still in the panel: click Save layout again. |
A section you added is not where you expected | Sections from other views always come after your own sections in their column. Check the column you chose for it in the panel. |
The arrows of a section are unavailable | The section is already first or last among the sections of its column and group. Change its column, or drag it onto another row. |
A section you need disappeared | It may be turned off. Open Customize this page and turn on its switch, or click Reset to default and Save layout to go back to your role's default Home. |
