Vendor's Quick Guide

The fast path from opening the app to delivering your first task as a Vendor.

Welcome to wxrks! This is the fast path from opening the app to delivering your first task as a Vendor — the role linguists, reviewers, and other language professionals use here.

💡 Who is this for? This guide is for Vendor who needs to get started with their first translation task within the wxrks platform.

Everything lives in the side menu

The side menu is how you reach everything: your assigned work, available tasks, payables, and your profile settings.

This guide only walks through your first task, end to end. For a full reference on every tab and setting shown here, see Vendor's Portal — keep this guide for the workflow, that one for looking things up later.

1. Find your task

Your Home page opens on the Dynamic Feed, where messages from project managers and stakeholders show up — worth checking regularly.

Your actual work is in the tabs next to it. My Projects lists what's already assigned to you; Pending Acceptance holds assignments waiting on your accept/reject decision (rejecting unassigns you, so only reject when you're sure); Available Projects lists unassigned work any eligible Vendor can claim.

If you have more than one task in the same project, select them from My Projects and click Join in Editor to work on them together instead of switching back and forth.

2. Translate the task

Opening a task puts you in the wxrks Editor, with the content split into segments — source on the left, your translation on the right.

After translating a segment, confirm it (the tick mark, or Ctrl + Enter) — this is what moves your progress bar forward. An unconfirmed translation doesn't count toward completion even if the text is filled in.

For the full editor reference and keyboard shortcuts, see wxrks Editor, wxrks Editor Menu for Vendors, and How to use the wxrks Editor Shortcuts.

3. Deliver it

Once every segment is confirmed and you're happy with it, deliver the task. A delivered task can't be edited again, so make sure it's ready first.

4. Get paid

Once your tasks are delivered, your payable isn't generated automatically — a Project Manager has to trigger it manually, and when that happens depends on each company's own internal policies (some run payables monthly, others on a different cadence). Check with your Project Manager if you're not sure when to expect it.

Once it exists, check Payables (under Finance in the side menu) to see what you're owed — this page is scoped to just your own records.

If you'd rather not check the dashboard constantly, you can turn on email notifications for new available tasks from your profile — see How to use the Auto Task Placement feature.

Where to go for more

This is only the fast path. For every tab, setting, and screen as a Vendor — Finance, Quality, profile settings, and more — see Vendor's Portal. You can also join the wxrks Community to connect with other linguists and stay up to date on platform news.
