The wxrks Editor's side menu — the vertical row of icons on the right edge of the screen — packs in most of the tools you'll use while translating or reviewing: comments, suggestions, project instructions, QA checks, TM and glossary search, filters, and more. This article walks through every tab, in order.

💡 Who is this for? This guide is for Vendors (translators and reviewers) working inside the wxrks Editor. A few tabs are permission-gated — for example, Glossary only appears if your account has been granted the matching permission. If a tab described here doesn't show up for you, ask your Project Manager or Account Admin to check your permissions.

Click on a segment to open its comment box and leave a note for anyone else working on the same file. Comments are visible to every user with access to that work unit — allocated vendors, Project Managers, and the Account Admin — across every workflow step, and you can reply to an existing thread.

Switch a comment to Private mode before posting it if you want it visible only to you — private comments can't be replied to.

Sous-Chef is wxrks' AI writing assistant panel — a "Tone & Style Shelf" where you select a segment, adjust tone, formality, and creativity, and generate a personalized AI suggestion for it. Changes you make here only affect the suggestion shown to you; they never modify the segment's actual pre-translated content until you choose to apply one.

This tab only appears when your account has AI-assisted suggestions enabled — if you don't see it, that feature likely isn't turned on for your account.

The main panel for the localization process. Suggestions from Translation Memory, Machine Translation, Glossaries, and AI all surface here for the segment you're working on, each labeled with a small colored tag so you can tell where a suggestion came from.

Read any instructions your Project Manager left for the project, and download reference files, from this tab. A small bell badge appears on the icon until you've opened it at least once.

QA Issues helps you catch inconsistencies in your translation before you confirm a segment — tag mismatches, missing terminology, and similar problems the platform can check for automatically. See How to use the wxrks QA Check Tool for the full walkthrough.

Search any phrase or term across every Translation Memory associated with the project, without leaving the segment you're on.

Search any term in the Glossaries associated with the project. This tab only shows up if your account has been granted the matching Glossary permission — if you don't see it, that's a permissions question for your Project Manager or Account Admin, not a bug.

Narrow the segment list down by source or target text, or by a long list of metadata conditions — confirmed, locked, repeated, has a TM or MT match, has warnings, empty target, has comments, exceeds the target character limit, and more.

Open Metadata Filters for the full list of conditions you can filter by, including their inverse (e.g. Not confirmed, No TM Match) so you can just as easily find what's missing a property as what has it.

Find and Replace searches translated segments for a word or phrase, then lets you replace it in just the current segment or across every matching segment at once. Two toggles refine the search: Case-sensitive (matches uppercase/lowercase and accents exactly) and Match whole word (off by default, so a search for "list" also returns "lists" or "listing").

See any edits made to a segment's content in earlier steps of the same task's workflow — useful for understanding what a previous translator or reviewer changed before the file reached you.

Customize how the Editor looks and feels while you work: font size, line height, word spacing, and a light/dark theme toggle. None of these affect the file itself — just your own reading comfort.

This tab opens the PDF QA Tool, which lets a Vendor or Project Manager preview an uploaded PDF and add comments and markups directly on it — separate from segment-level translation.
