Any workflow step after the first Translation step is a review step — In-Country Review, Regional Approval, or whatever names your account uses for them. If your assigned task belongs to one of those steps, you're reviewing content a translator (or an earlier reviewer) already produced, not translating from scratch. This article covers what's different about working a review-step task in the wxrks Editor.

💡 Who is this for? This guide is for Vendors assigned a review-step task. If you're not sure whether your task is a review step, the workflow name — visible both on your dashboard and inside the Editor — tells you.

You open a review task exactly the same way you open a translation task. On your dashboard, each task group shows its workflow step name at the top:

Inside the Editor, the same workflow name shows up as a small badge near the top of the file, next to the progress bar. It's often too narrow to show the full name — hover it to see the complete workflow step name.

A project can also have more than one review stage in a row — for example, an In-Country Review followed by a separate Regional Approval — so a task you're reviewing may already have been reviewed once before it reached you.

Edit a segment's target text in a review step, and wxrks opens a Categorize your change dropdown right below it, along with a comment field. You have to pick a category before you can confirm the segment — this is how wxrks tracks what kind of change a review introduced, and it's what feeds the translator's quality index.

Once you've picked a category (or accepted the AI-suggested one, if your account has Review Assessment on), click Mark as Reviewed to confirm the segment — this is different from the plain check icon used in translation. If your edit no longer matches a glossary term the source uses, wxrks shows a one-time Glossary terms mismatch safety prompt first; click Confirm there to proceed. Once confirmed, the segment shows a REVIEWED label instead of the plain checkmark.

A reviewed segment can't be edited again — wxrks blocks further changes to protect the review record. If you unconfirm a segment before it's reached the reviewed state, you can re-edit the text and change the category you picked, and the Categorize your change form reappears.
