All about Settings

A map of every tab under Account Settings, Translation Settings, and Automation Settings, with what each one does and links to the in-depth article for it.

The Settings menu is where an Account Admin configures everything about how your wxrks account behaves — billing, pricing, security, translation defaults, and automation. It's organized into three groups: Account Settings, Translation Settings, and Automation Settings. This article maps every tab in each group, explains what it does at a glance, and links to the in-depth article for any tab that has one.

💡 Who is this for? This guide is for Account Admins who need to find their way around the Settings menu and know which article covers a specific tab in depth within the wxrks platform.

Account Settings

Go to Settings > Account Settings in the left sidebar. This is where your account's identity, billing, and account-wide business rules live.

Usage

The Usage tab is the account's home base: it shows your plan and account name at the top with Manage Plan, Update Payment Method, and Cancel Account buttons, followed by Usage Metrics — raw processed volume, Machine Translation, and LLM AI character/word counts, broken down by month. See How to update and manage your wxrks plan for the billing actions, and Processed Words and wxrks Limits for what those usage numbers mean for your plan.

Below that, an Account Settings panel lists several account-wide behavior toggles — Enable Quote Automation among them (see How to use wxrks Quote Automation for what it does), alongside others like Custom Account Languages, Enable Task Reminder Notifications, Enable Reviewer Feedback, and how the Editor should treat 101% (perfect, previously-confirmed) matches. Most of these are narrow, self-explanatory switches — hover or click into one if its effect isn't clear from the label.

Business

The Business tab groups five sub-tabs that shape how you price and manage work: Prices (your Price Lists), Custom Review Categories (see How to configure custom review categories), Custom Cancellation Options (your own list of reasons a project can be canceled for, shown when someone cancels one), Terminology Board (see The Terminology Board: Reviewing and Approving Glossary Term Requests), and Taxes (see How to Configure Taxes).

Finance

Don't confuse this with the Finance item in the main left sidebar (Payables and Receivables, covered in How to manage the Finance Section) — this Settings tab is a smaller, separate page with three sub-tabs: Logfile Type, Payment Integrations, and Company Information.

Logfile Type is the one most accounts touch: it sets whether project costs are calculated from the Pre-analysis or Post-analysis logfile. Pre-analysis estimates effort before translation starts; post-analysis recalculates it afterward, based on the actual edits made. See All about Logfiles for the full explanation of how each is generated and what changes between them.

Notifications

The Notifications tab opens on Org. Units by default — a table of every Organizational Unit in your account with four switches per row: Vendor Notifications, Contact Person Notifications, Project Manager Notifications, and Email Notifications For Available Tasks. Use it to check or change which notification types are active for a given unit without opening the unit itself.

The Notification Template sub-tab is where you customize the actual email content sent for each notification type, including which address they're sent from. Configure consolidated allocation notification templates walks through one template end to end as a worked example.

SSO

SSO (Single Sign-On) lets your team log into wxrks with credentials from an identity provider instead of a separate wxrks password. wxrks currently supports Okta, OneLogin, and Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID — only if login is initiated from the wxrks login page with a custom domain configured). This tab holds the SSO Provider Configuration fields (SSO URL, Client ID, Secret) and the account-specific Integration URLs each provider needs; a separate Provisioning sub-tab handles automated user provisioning. See wxrks Single Sign-On (SSO) for the step-by-step setup for each provider.

Webhooks

A Webhook notifies an external system whenever a selected account event happens in wxrks — a new project, a task status change, a translation file becoming ready, and similar events. Under Create Webhook, provide a Webhook URL (must accept HTTPS POST requests), an optional Secret (sent back in an X-BWX-Webhook-Secret header so your endpoint can verify the request), and the Event that should trigger it. Every webhook you've created is listed under Configured Webhooks, with its status and a link to view its recent events; an Events sub-tab covers the full list of event types you can trigger on.

Custom Fields

Custom Fields let you add your own metadata to wxrks records — Projects, Users, Organizations, Org. Units, and more. See All About Custom Fields for which entities support them, how each data type behaves, and whether a new field applies retroactively.

Hierarchy View

The current app doesn't have a standalone Hierarchy View tab under Account Settings — that's a change from how this article described it previously. To see an Organization's structure laid out visually (the Organization on top, its Organizational Units nested underneath), open the Organization itself and go to its own Hierarchy View tab, shown in Accounts, Organizations and Organizational Units and detailed further in All about Organizations.

Translation Settings

Go to Settings > Translation Settings. These tabs control how content is machine-translated, AI-assisted, routed, segmented, and priced for effort across every project in your account.

MT

The MT Settings tab is where you connect your own Machine Translation provider credentials — Amazon Translate, Google, Microsoft Azure, DeepL, and others — instead of (or alongside) the built-in wxrks (Powered by Microsoft) engine every account starts with. See Connect a Machine Translation (MT) Provider to wxrks for the full provider list, credential formats, and how a configuration is applied at the Account, Organization, or Org Unit level.

Agents

The Agents tab (called LLMs in older documentation) is where an Account Admin turns on Augmented Actions — wxrks's AI-powered translation and editing tools — for the whole account, and optionally connects a custom OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Google Gemini account. See wxrks Augmented Actions for what each action does, how the account/Org Unit/user levels stack, and the data-privacy details.

Enable Augmented Translation Actions toggle on the Agents settings page

Workflows

The Workflows tab is where you build your account's catalog of workflow steps (Translation, Review, DTP, and any custom step you define), set the order files move through by default, and configure file-extension recommendation rules. See Managing Your Custom Workflows for the full walkthrough, including archiving a step and Organizational Unit-level overrides.

Project Routing

Project Routing lets you upload one set of files once and have wxrks automatically split it into a separate linked project for every Organizational Unit that needs it, instead of creating and configuring each one by hand. See How to use Project Routing in wxrks for how to set up a routing configuration and create projects from it.

Segmentation

The Segmentation tab is where you upload a custom .SRX rule file to override wxrks' default rules for splitting a document into translatable segments — useful for content with unusual abbreviations or punctuation the defaults don't anticipate. See All about Segmentation Rules for the default behavior, what an SRX file is, and the Account/Org Unit precedence order.

Net Rate Coefficients

wxrks calculates a translator's or reviewer's Net Rate — how much of a task's per-word rate actually gets paid — based on how much Translation Memory, Machine Translation, and AI assistance was leveraged on a segment. This tab is where you can define your own custom Net Rate coefficients instead of the platform default, at the Account or Organizational Unit level. See Net Rate Coefficients for the default effort percentages and how to build a custom set.

Automation Settings

Go to Settings > Automation Settings. Today this group has one tab, but it's a significant one.

Auto Task Placement

Auto Task Placement lets eligible Vendors see and claim available tasks themselves, instead of a Project Manager assigning every task by hand. The Auto Task Placement Settings tab is where the account-wide matching rules live — a Quality filter (minimum translator score to be eligible), a Rate filter (vendor must have rate data on file), a Tag filter, an Acceptance Checklist, and the score/job-count thresholds for skipping review entirely. See How to use the Auto Task Placement feature for how to turn it on, configure these filters, and what a Vendor sees when claiming a task.
