A Deliverable is the final, client-ready file for a Work Unit — it reflects the completed translation plus any final adjustments made outside wxrks (for example, desktop publishing or a last manual review pass). This article covers uploading a deliverable, spotting which Work Units already have one, and the different ways to download them once they're ready.
💡 Who is this for? This guide is for Account Admins and Project Managers who need to upload and download final deliverable files within the wxrks platform.
Who can manage deliverables
Uploading and downloading deliverables are each controlled by their own permission — Upload Deliverable File and Download Deliverable File — granted to Account Admin and Project Manager by default. If either action is missing from a Work Unit's ⋮ menu, an Account Admin can grant it through How to manage Permission Groups.
Uploading a deliverable
Deliverables are uploaded one Work Unit at a time, from the project's Overview tab:
Open the project and find the Work Unit.
Click the ⋮ menu at the end of its row.
Select Upload Deliverable.
Choose the final file from your computer.
Important: wxrks keeps only one current deliverable per Work Unit — there's no version history. Uploading a new file always replaces whatever deliverable is already there, and wxrks asks you to confirm the replacement first so you don't overwrite one by accident.
If you need to keep a copy of the file being replaced, download it before uploading the new one — once you confirm the replacement, the previous file is gone.
Spotting which Work Units have a deliverable
Once a Work Unit has a deliverable, a small box icon appears next to its row — hover over it to see the "This work unit has a deliverable" tooltip. It's the fastest way to tell, at a glance, which Work Units already have a final file waiting and which still need one uploaded.
Downloading deliverables
From a single Work Unit
Open the Work Unit's ⋮ menu and select Download File. A dialog lets you pick which file to download — Original File, Translated File, Deliverable File, or Reference Files — and grays out any option that isn't available yet for that Work Unit.
For a whole workflow or a selection of Work Units
Use the Import/Export menu above the Work Unit list, choose Translated Files, then click Whole project at workflow — or select specific Work Units first and click Selected instead. In the dialog that opens, pick the workflow and turn on Include Deliverable Files.
With that toggle on, wxrks downloads the deliverable for any Work Unit that has one, and falls back to the translated file for any Work Unit that doesn't — so one bulk download always gives you the most final version available for every file, without you having to check each Work Unit first.
Delivery notification email
When a project's status changes to Delivered, wxrks can automatically email the project's Contact (set in the Overview tab's More Info panel) to let them know the deliverables are ready, with a link to download them. Whether that email actually goes out depends on a notification setting at the account level — if a client reports not receiving it, that setting is the first thing worth checking.
