Review Assessment

Review Assessment auto-suggests a change category and comment for your review-step edits, using AI, with an explanation you can always override.

Review Assessment is wxrks's AI-assisted change categorization — when you're reviewing a segment that was already translated in an earlier workflow step, it automatically suggests one of your account's translation change categories for your edit, along with a short comment explaining the change.

💡 Who is this for? This guide is for Vendors who need to categorize their review-step edits faster using an AI-suggested category and explanation within the wxrks platform.

What Review Assessment does

Any workflow step after the first Translation step is treated as a review step. When you edit a segment's target text in a review step — changing text that was carried over, already translated, from an earlier step — wxrks normally shows a Categorize your change dropdown and a comment field right below the segment, both empty, waiting for you to fill them in.

With Review Assessment turned on, wxrks fills both in for you automatically as soon as your edit is saved: it compares your new text against the segment's previous-step translation and suggests the category that best matches the kind of change you made, plus a short comment explaining why. You're never locked into the suggestion — you can pick a different category or edit the comment before selecting Mark as Reviewed.

Where the suggestion appears

Review Assessment doesn't open a separate window or a sidebar panel — it works inline, directly inside the same Categorize your change panel you'd use anyway. While it's working, a short line appears below the segment: "Review Assessment is suggesting the change type and explanation...". Once it resolves, the category field shows the suggested category (marked with a small AI badge when you open the dropdown), the comment field is pre-filled with the AI's explanation, and a line above both reads "You can change the suggested category and explanation as you see fit."

Above, Review Assessment already ran on this edit — the banner confirms it, and opening the dropdown shows Grammar selected with an AI badge next to it, matching the AI-written explanation that was filled into the comment field below.

Turning Review Assessment on

Review Assessment is one of the individual AI actions covered by Augmented Actions, so it depends on the same account- and Organizational-Unit-level toggles as the rest of them — see wxrks Augmented Actions for the full walkthrough of all three levels. Once it's enabled at the account level, you turn it on for yourself from the Editor's Settings panel:

  1. Open any segment's Editor Settings panel.

  2. Turn on Enable Review Assessment.

This is a personal preference — turning it on or off only changes what happens in your own review sessions, not anyone else's.

The category and comment are suggested together

There's a single toggle for Review Assessment — you can't keep the AI-suggested category while turning off the auto-filled comment, or the other way around. Every suggestion carries both a category and an explanation as one package; the only choice you have is whether Review Assessment runs at all, and whether you accept, edit, or replace what it suggests once it does.
