My Account is where you manage your own personal wxrks profile — your contact details, password, security, and personal notification preferences. It's different from account-wide Settings (plan and billing, AI, machine translation providers, custom domains, and so on), which only an Account Admin can reach for the whole organization; see All about Settings if that's what you're looking for.
💡 Who is this for? This guide is for any wxrks user who needs to manage their own profile, security, and notification settings within the wxrks platform.
Opening My Account
Click your avatar in the top-right corner of any page, then select Profile. My Account opens with a row of tabs across the top — General, Change Email, Location and Address, Languages, Payment Information, Agreements, Security, Notifications, and Attachments. Which of these actually show you something depends on your role, noted tab by tab below.
General
My Account opens on the General tab by default.
Avatar — hover the photo and click the camera icon to upload a new one (PNG or JPEG). A crop-and-rotate editor opens before it saves; once you have a custom photo, a Remove option appears to go back to the default avatar.
Name, Cell Phone, and Company Name are freely editable here.
Email is shown but locked on this tab — see Change Email below to actually change it.
Click Save to apply any changes.
Change Email
wxrks doesn't let you type a new address into the General tab and save it directly — changing the email you log in with goes through a short verification flow instead, so a mistyped or malicious change can't lock you out of your own account.
Enter the address in New email.
Complete the reCAPTCHA below it — Send Verification Code stays disabled until you do.
Click Send Verification Code. wxrks emails a one-time code to the new address.
Enter that code in the field that appears, then click Save.
The new address has to be genuinely different from your current one — wxrks rejects it otherwise and asks for a different address.
Location and Address
Personal location fields: Timezone, Country, State, City, Address line 1, Address line 2, and Postal Code. All of them are optional.
Payment Information
Your own billing details: Currency, per-unit rates (Word Rate, Hourly Rate, Daily Rate, Pages Rate), and Minimum Fee per Task. This is the same Rates data an Account Admin can set for you from your user record — see How to manage user information for how that looks from the admin side — but here you're viewing and, if your account allows it, editing your own.
This tab is visible to every role, but the fields only become editable if your account has been granted the update-billing permission; otherwise they render read-only.
Agreements
A read-only record of every agreement you've accepted in wxrks (for example, updated terms of service), with the date you accepted each one. Click click to view next to any row to open its full text in a new window.
Languages
The Languages tab lists the source → target language pairs assigned to your user record. It's only meaningful for Vendors — every other role sees the tab in the list, but it renders empty for them, since language pairs are a vendor-specific concept tied to translation and review task eligibility.
You can't add or remove your own language pairs from here — an Account Admin or Project Manager assigns them from your user record instead (see How to manage user information).
Security
Your password, two-factor authentication, and (if your role has it) API access all live on this one tab.
Password
Use the Change your password card to set a new password anytime. Enter your Current Password, a New Password meeting the requirements listed on the right (8–100 characters, at least one number, one special character, and one capital letter, and different from any password you've used before), and confirm it, then click Update Password. wxrks emails you a confirmation after a successful change.
If you've forgotten your current password entirely rather than just wanting to change it, use Forgot your password? instead — it sends a reset link to your email, the same way a forgotten-password reset works from the login page.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA adds a one-time code from an authenticator app as a second step beyond your password when logging in. Click the toggle next to MFA is currently disabled to turn it on — this opens a QR code to scan with an app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Duo Mobile, plus a field to confirm the 6-digit code it generates. For the full walkthrough, see How to enable your MFA (multifactor authentication).
Turning it back off works differently depending on your role: an Account Admin can turn it off again with the same toggle, no extra confirmation needed. Every other role that already has MFA enabled can't self-disable it here — the toggle instead shows a message directing you to contact [email protected].
API Token and API IP Whitelist
If your role has API access, an API Token card appears here too, and — if you're an Account Admin — an API IP Whitelist card below it. These are what let you (or an integration acting as you) authenticate directly against the wxrks REST API, separate from your normal Portal login. Full setup, the credential-exchange flow, and IP restriction details are covered in Authenticating with the wxrks API — this tab is simply where those credentials live inside My Account.
Notifications
Control which email notifications wxrks sends you personally.
Enable Tasks Available Email Notification — turn this on to reveal which days of the week you want to be notified, plus an optional quiet hours window during which wxrks won't email you even if tasks become available.
Segment Comments — on by default; emails you whenever someone comments on a segment you're participating in.
If you're an Account Admin or Project Manager, three more toggles appear: Create Project Subscription, Reject Content Subscription, and Notify Project Manager on Assignment — these are project-level events rather than personal task alerts.
Click Save after changing anything on this tab.
Attachments
A general-purpose file library attached to your own user record — a place to keep reference files or documents alongside your profile rather than inside a specific project.
Important Behavior and Edge Cases
Tab visibility follows your role, not just what's in the tab bar. Every tab listed under Opening My Account above shows up for everyone, but Languages only ever renders content for Vendors, and Payment Information only becomes editable — not hidden — without the right permission.
Opening the API IP Whitelist card silently turns whitelisting on for Account Admins. The first time an Account Admin opens the Security tab, wxrks automatically enables whitelist enforcement on that admin's own API credentials in the background — there's no toggle to leave it off, unlike every other role. This doesn't block anything by itself with an empty list, but the moment you add even one IP address, only requests from addresses on that list can authenticate via your API key going forward.
MFA self-service disable is Account-Admin-only. Every other role needs support to turn MFA back off once it's on — see Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) above.
